Swaptastique!

Based on the response to my January 27 post, women like to tie themselves up! Or they like to see other women tied up. It's kind of confusing.

But in relation to wearing neckties, I really should also have mentioned Melanie, who has done some very cool androgynous outfits with ties, vests, hats, and attitude (see here and here).

In that post I wore some buttonflowers I'd gotten as a swap with Megan Mae. Feeling emboldened (you never know unless you ask, right?), I also did a swap with Joni James of Walking Colors blog – I'd been eyeing this Eiffel Tower calligram shirt in her Etsy shop, and finally made my move.

Bois de Boulogne

I haven't had a baggy shirt for a long time, so I wanted to experiment avec mes ensembles. I decided to photograph them all to chronicle my research.

Here we go. There will be a brief quiz at the end, so you might want to take notes.

Ile Saint-Louis

La Rive Gauche

Les Halles

Quai d'Orsay

Montparnasse

Joni also sent me a tote bag with a beautiful sun calligram. Joni is a true artist, and an excellent silk-screener – go check out her shop!

Now for the quiz - which outfit do you like best? And for a bonus point, who played the female lead in The Moderns?

Val

Update Feb. 3 - So far, looks like Quai d'Orsay is the winner, so I'm going to link that one up to Visible Monday at Not Dead Yet Style. If you haven't expressed your opinion yet, please let me know your favorite outfit from the above choices!

You have a penchant for Paris AND ties. Me too (and thanks for the mention!). My fave is Quai d'Orsay and La Rive Gauche, but your pose for Montparnasse is truly winning.
Okay, I'd have to Google who the female lead was so that wouldn't count. So I FAIL. But you still WIN in these looks. Joni's calligrams are fantastic. And so was the necklace you sent her!

Val!!! You are SO creative! I love every look/pose but my most favorite is Quai d'Orsay. It's such a treat for me to see the shirt this way. You really knock the ball out of the park! I had no idea these tunics could be so versatile. You really made me smile and laugh tonight. ;)
The purse in the second photo is gorgeous. Have you had that around for a while? Looks like super soft worn suede.
You are so fun!

Joni, the purse is very soft, and big! It's not real leather, but it looks like it and is a very warm brown. I got it at Target.

My favourite is with the striped skirt. No idea about the other question.
Please keep on posing.

Fabulous Joni t-shirt, and you are modeling it to perfection!
Rive gauche and Quai d'Orsay are my favourites, but I appreciate the dramatic pose of Montparnasse!
A great idea to swap your wonderful handmade items. xxxx

What a versatile shirt, I like it. Joni is a great artist and so are you in creating les tableaus vivants. My absolute favorite is Quai d'Orsay, it has everything I love so much: great pattern mix, striped skirt, funny bag and cool boots.

Love the leggings and the skirt version because that is the way that I would wear it.

Good for you for orchestrating a swap. I'm going to have to agree with everyone else on Rive gauche and Quai d'Orsay as being my faves.

I am all for Quai d'Orsay because I am a sucker for a striped skirt. I also love la Rive Gauche because striped tops - well I love them too.

Super cute outfits all though.

I think it was Linda Fiorentino. Am I right? What did I win?

I like 'em all. It would be hard to chose just one.

I missed the voting, bummer. I would have said Ile Saint-Louis is my favorite. I love the pop with the red shoes.

The shirt really is great. I love all of Joni's shirts. :)

Have a great week, Val!

Sorry Val for being so late - but I do have a favorite too, La Rive Gauche! I recognized Joni's art right away, it's fantastic! I love it with the striped sleeves!

I'm really impressed to see so many different outfits, all featuring this lovely top. Great job!

I love the La Rive Gauche and Quai d'Orsay looks, but what a perfect graphic print tee! It looks great with everything. I'm so glad Joni did a swap with you, her tees are so cool. I need to get one for myself one day.
