Every time I sneeze an angel gets her wings

But every time I cough, the wings are blown off.

I think the angels are a little worse for wear this week. Another nasty virus has infiltrated my system, so I've sneezed many little angels into flight. Then the coughing takes over, and I've grounded thousands more. Mr. Sparkle's version of the virus has undoubtedly turned them all into devils – as if we need any more of those!

When I did make it in to work this week, I selected clothes that were comfortable and had pockets for tissues. I surprised myself that this outfit turned out so well!

Look at those poor angels trying to fly by flapping their arms. Gorgonzola the garden imp just smirks.
I'm liking the trend back to wearing belts. I like the way a belt can add a masculine element in a feminine way – or a feminine element in a masculine way. And it's one more accessory to play with!

Jacket – JCP several years ago; black tee – Croft & Barrow; gray trousers – Lee; reversible belt - Walmart; shoes - Dockers, thrifted

Tucking my shirt in and wearing a belt means my big square ass is on display (Sponge Val Squarepants?), but if I can perfect the half-tuck I can probably hide the top corners of the square.

Bouquets of buttonflowers, brooch, and bracelets.

Buttonflowers – Megan Mae Daily; sparkle brooch – gift from Bella; cuff – My Peace of Jewelry; other bracelets by me
I've been a sneezing sloth at home, watching the idiot box and reading library books (maybe I can disinfect them in the microwave before I return them). I really haven't been on the computer much at all, so I'll have to use our three-day weekend to catch up on all your blogs!

How annoying an influenca in spring. Get well soon, Val!
Nevertheless you look fabulous in this comfy outfit. I love the color of the blouse and the marvellous button flowers.
Take care my dear!

Nice outfit. Your accessories are cute.

There's something chic girls are doing these days with belts -- they wear their top over them and tuck only the front bit under the belt. Hard to describe but very trendy look. I've even seen it on store mannequins.

Those poor angels don't know whether they are coming or going.

I love the little bouquet you added. Little details really make an outfit.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

I love the buttonflowers on your fabulous jacket!! I've been hitting the benadryl this season. Between the plants and my boss's new dog, my nose knows no end.

That pink shade is divine on you, Val! I love the cluster of pins/flowers on the jacket.

No sneezing for me, but I wish these spots would go away!

Sorry to hear you've been ill, Val, but if it's any consolation, you look great, the jacket is really lovely, and your brooches and bangles are beautiful. xxx

You look pretty darn good for feeling so puny! So maybe I should rethink this belt thing...like I got rid of any after I posted this week! By the way, I'm trying to perfect the proverbial half-tuck, too!

Looking pretty cute, Val ... not at all Sponge Val Squarepants. Great punny play, though. Points for that! You're looking way cute in pink, you are right about the belt, and all accessories work like the charming little pieces they are.
All cute, even Gorgonzola, the cheesy gargoyle.

Know what you mean about sneezes ... lots of pollen here and I'm deep in Allergy Land. Dan and I were driving home from the Big City the other day on the highway. I was driving, and trying to floor it and pass a couple of scary acting trucks. About half way through the maneuver .... Ah-choo, ahhh-choo, AH-CHOO! Nowhere to go but onward.

Dan's hands had to be pried from the passenger seat panic bar.

Have a great Memorial Day, what's left of it. Hope you're feeling better.

I relate to fashion decisions made by what has pockets for tissues! And I love all your accessories- they are friend talismans to protect you from the future angel factory!

Have you tried Echinacea to strengthen your inmune system???

You look darling even if you had to take into account the need for pockets for tissues - better than stuffing them in your bra and up your sleeves!

You're wearing the perfect colour for a pick-me-up. I mean the blush toned jacket! I do hope you're feeling better Val. Spring sniffles are no fun. Now let that cold go.

I absolutely love the "Let it Go" bracelet. A sentiment we can all use. Nice collection of pins on the pinky peachy denim jacket. I like that shade of pink and it goes well with the gray. Debbie @ ilovemylemonadelife.com

Hope you're feeling better now, but once again you don't look like a mere mortal when you get ill, there's no way a camera is coming near me when I'm sick! Liking the brooch bouquet very much.

I have a very similar brooch that belonged to my grandmother. Or at least I think I remembered to take it from my house when I left my husband....
